Origin Story
Airavo was created by two avid cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts who spent years asking the same question before every workout during wildfire season: is the air actually safe for our lungs today?
AQI gives you a number, but not what it means for you. And with wildfire smoke now stretching across entire summers, even far from any fire, that question keeps getting harder. It's not just athletes asking it. Runners, hikers, walkers, parents with kids outside, anyone who plans their day around the air is asking it too.
For both of them, the question is personal. Steven Decker has managed asthma his whole life. Alex Aaron, a former bike racer, survived a near-fatal pulmonary embolism and now trains with lasting lung damage. They love being outside, but they've both had to think twice about the air before heading out.
So they built Airavo. It reads your local air quality and gives you a clear, personalized Go, Caution, or No-Go, tuned to your lung sensitivity and how hard you plan to go. It also shows the cleanest window of the day to get outside.
How It Works
Built for Everyone
Airavo was created for everyone who plans their activities around the AQI: Runners, cyclists, hikers, paddlers, walkers, and parents with kids outside. If you've ever stepped outside and wondered whether you should work out, Airavo is for you.
The Fine Print
Airavo provides general air-quality guidance, not medical advice. Smoke is patchy and sensors can under-read it, so if you can see or smell smoke, trust your senses. If you have a heart or lung condition, are pregnant, or have specific health concerns, follow your doctor's guidance.
